The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer BLEW. MY. MIND. This is a book that is not long (181 beautiful pages), but took me longer to read than usual purely out of my trying to absorb it as fully and mindfully as possible. I re-read pages of this book many times to ensure I was processing the hugely impacting ideas that were laid out so simply in black and white. I didn't just read pages on repeat, I also folded the corners of the pages and reread them later. I wrote idea after idea down in my journal in the hopes of soaking this gorgeous perspective further into my brain. This is a book worth reading as slowly as possible.
There are a lot of things that humans do to try to further development themselves and their sparkle. Daily meditation and mindful movement have been a part of my personal development and sparkle untapping. This book takes these things to a whole new level. Starting off with the understanding and acknowledgment of who you are, who that voice is that is in your head when you say "hello" in your brain, is mind blowing in and of itself, and that is just the beginning. Recognizing how our energies shift as we acknowledge that voice and the journey it can take us on when listen in the moment is something that I have never considered in the way that Singer lays out.
Listening, checking in with one's energy, and the reminder to relax and release that energy, to stay open as needed, is a tool that seems so simple, yet takes a lot of practice. The perspective that we are here in this moment to enjoy life as humans on a planet flying through the infinite is humbling beyond words. Enjoy the good, enjoy the bad, acknowledge and soak in each moment that we are in. Relax and release. All of it is a gift. This book is a true gift.
