If you have explored the Untap Your Sparkle website, Instagram feed, or blog at all, you are likely aware that a major piece of my sparkle is my spiritual side. I lovingly call this the woo-woo aspects of my sparkle. While others might use that word negatively, with a roll of the eyes, I use it in the most positive and playful way. I find that when I allow myself to explore, wonder, and play in the lesser-known sides of our existence, I am making meaning in my life, finding more purpose, and strengthening my sparkle.
I have always been a relatively spiritual person. Angels, magic, higher powers, and energy were always something that I felt aware of, even at a young age. In high school, I was reading books like The Celestine Prophecy, as exploring these realms felt like home to me.
And yet, like so many other people, there was also a time in my life where I felt disconnected from the spiritual world. This also happened to be when I was most disconnected from my true, authentic self. I feared that my open-mindedness toward spiritual realms would cause others to say I was crazy (or rather, more crazy). I was trying to manage my mental health, but afraid to explore or voice my interest in an important part of me. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence in the world of mental health. Expressing views about spiritual topics dances too close to getting labeled with more symptoms.
Luckily, after navigating the system further, advocating for my desire to change my treatment, and gaining more confidence, I began exploring my spirituality again. Slowly but steadily, I began taking classes, devouring books, and finding inspiring people to learn alongside. I realized that for me, my desire for personal growth and expansion included my need to find the magic (and sparkle) in the Universe.
Now, my spiritual practice is robust with more tools, resources, and rituals available to me than ever. I have found that opening my heart to the possibility of more in our existence, allowed me to envision the possibility of more for myself personally. My spiritual practice brings me so much joy; it is fun, relaxing, and inspiring… to me.
This is the magic of the spiritual realm. What is just right for one person is not necessarily right for another. We all have different facets to our health, wellness, spirituality, and sparkle. I adore meditation, energy work, crystals, moon rituals, tarot, and oracle card reading (to name a few!). Others might call those tools nonsense, but to me, they nourish my soul.
Each and every one of us has the right to explore the spiritual realm if we choose. If you are inspired to do this, it is important to know your right to take what you need, and leave the rest. There is not one specific prescription for one’s spiritual sparkle, but there are a lot of options to explore if you are interested in designing a new facet! Know that if the spiritual side does not call to you that it is absolutely okay. Everyone finds sparkle, meaning, purpose, and magic wherever is right for them.
If you are interested in exploring new facets to your sparkle, let me know. I’d love to walk with you in experimenting with sparkle exploration, from spiritual practices and developing intuition to navigating a healthier relationship with food and expanding self-love.
Let’s Sparkle Together.
