Sparkle. Shine. Shimmer.
As we engage in the process to untap our sparkle, to get our sparkle back, or to take action to grow and flourish our sparkle, it can feel overwhelming. Impossible. Vast.
Yesterday was an incredibly special day in the universe. The solar eclipse occurred, putting on the ultimate cosmic show. Talk about universal sparkle! This Great American Eclipse had me (and damn near everyone I know) aflutter with excitement and anticipation. The incredible unknown of our existence really showed up to make this event feel magical, reminding me of the vastness of our beautiful, complicated world. Reminding me that we are all connected, one, and TOGETHER in this experience.
Here is the thing: in the wild unknown universe, where our planet is floating with so many other magnificent creations, there can be a moment where the sun, the new moon, and our home planet align to show us the great beauty we witnessed yesterday. This exact alignment is a lesson in and of itself, of course. This world we live in is miraculous. The idea of this beautiful alignment seems impossible… similar to the idea of untapping your sparkle.
Not only did this beautiful cosmic show display the reminder that anything is possible, miracles happen more often than we acknowledge, and that there is SO MUCH MORE to this life that what our busy schedules and daily to do lists show us; this event also provided all of us with a chance to expand our own sparkle. Yes.
As I began my daily hike to the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles, I noted the huge crowds, the excitement, the conversations ranging from science to astrology to playful jokes. I watched as families bonded over poking a pinhole to show a shadow, overheard couples discuss how when they first began dating they promised they would witness this event together, and smiled as a kind gentleman realized, with the strangers around him, that the small air holes in his sun hat provided the perfect shadow box to show the crescent of the gorgeous dance between the sun and the moon. I connected with strangers as we waited in line to buy glasses, sharing our excitement about the adventure that is an experience of this magnitude.
People were engaged. Together. And oh my, were they ever sparkling.
The universe showed us her sparkle in this great cosmic show. This is exactly the miracle and magic of this wild world we live in. Not only did she show us her sparkle, but she provided us with this beautiful opportunity to connect, engage, experience, adventure, learn, and in doing so, we all are sparkling a little bit brighter.
I hope the sparkle and cosmic shifts of the Great American Eclipse bring you joy! Happy new moon and Virgo season, Sparklers!
